When the news broke that schools would be shut down last march, many students around the world were heartbroken. Wherever students were it seemed as if everyone had the same reactions. Sports seasons were canceled, prom never happened, and seniors did not get to graduate with their lifelong friends. Although this was a devastating blow for seniors some were able to take the positives out of the negatives. Now that classes were online a majority of students saw their grades go up as they could pace themselves with more efficiency. Whereas class clowns were put in a spot where they could not distract the class or themselves. Many students have mixed feelings on the virtual learning experience nevertheless most students are excited about returning to in person school and gaining that sense of normalcy that has been missing for some months now.

The things I checked the most often was instagram and twitter. I think I check them the most because it is a good combination of staying in touch with friends and finding out events that happen in the world. Those forms of social media I think are the easiest way of finding things out because it is so accessible. The things I checked the least of was tiktok as I really only have the app when somebody sends me something funny but I rarely use it and it very rarely makes me laugh. I think I expect from using this internet content is that its a good way to keep your moods positive but it is also a great way to stay in touch with friends which is mainly what I use it for. Honestly I could be having a rough day and then see something positive on social media and it turns my whole day around. That is what I expect and will continue to expect as I use the platforms. I know a lot of people who can relate to social media and internet the way that I do so I would create content mostly based on how I would like to see content being made .
Last year around March I got the news that schools were shutting down, and we would be online for the remainder of the year. To say the least I was crushed, my baseball team had made it to the state championship the year before and we were ready to continue that run my senior year. For the season to get canceled on me, my senior year, the year I was voted captain, really was tough. On the flip side however weeks into virtual learning I noticed a huge uptick in my grades. The benefits of virtual learning really rubbed off on me. I have noticed that it is easier to complete homework and classwork. When I would get homework at normal school I would come home and just want to relax and do nothing, but with virtual classes I am always at home so I have found it easier to pace myself when doing homework or classwork. Also I have been known to be more talkative and I sometimes can be distracted easily, with online class I can pay attention much easier without being distracted or distracting others. Also it was awesome to stay in bed while in class. Now for the negatives obviously like I stated, missing my baseball season was awful and was one of the worst experiences of my life. Not being able to see my friends either is something that was not fun. It also gets boring just staying inside and at some points you just wish you could be out and being active in class and sometimes it is harder to understand the concepts when it is being taught online. Overall virtual learning was not as bad as I thought it would be but at the end of the day I am happy to be returning to the classroom and to the baseball field. |
